LEADTIME: Your character will be manufacture-complete 5-8 weeks from receipt of the deposit. Allow 3 to 5 days for shipping.
TERMS: 50% of the mascot cost will be required as a deposit prior to manufacturing. The final 50% will be due upon approval of the final digital photos and must be received prior to shipping. Shipping and Pa. Sales Tax are extra.
DESIGN and ARTWORK Our designer will work with you to create artwork that will reflect the final product. Our goal is to make sure that you are completely satisfied with the artwork before we begin construction, and then to ensure the final product mirrors the artwork as closely as is possible. Your mascot will be designed to reflect your expectations and to maximize the comfort and well being of your performer.
HEAD DESIGN Our manufacturing department will create the head of your character to capture the distinct three dimensional shape and characteristics, as specified and reflected in your artwork.
A lightweight street hockey helmet with a four-point football chinstrap will be installed into the head to ensure stability. It will be manufactured using lightweight, medium density poly-ethylene foam covered with appropriately-colored faux fur and/or Nylafleece. The eyes will be made of vacuum formed plastic and have a sharp, professional look.
VISION Performer vision will be achieved through the mouth, neck or eyes of the costume depending on what the design suggests. This will provide the maximum amount of vision range and motion range for the performer.
VENTILATION SYSTEM This costume will have strategically placed ventilation holes allowing the hot air to escape and still be camouflaged to the audience. Fans can be installed at an additional price.
INNER BODY If you are looking for a fat-bellied character a mesh and tubing belly structure will be provided to give your mascot a lightweight and flexible shape. This Inner Body will be washable.
If your mascot demands muscles they will be created from marine foam and sewn in between the liner and skin of the body. This muscular body will be washable.
BODY SKIN The Body Skin will be appropriately colored and textured polyester faux fur and/or nylafleece manufactured to cover your character’s arms except under the shirt and shorts, so as to provide more ventilation. Athletic mesh will be used in these areas. The zipper will ideally be placed in the front of the costume to make it easier to put on, and a mesh balaclava will be added to provide covering and breathability to the neck area of the performer.
If the sipper must go into the back of the performer we can provide a mesh balaclava worn separately.
Sometimes we split the costumes into pants and shirt w/arms built in. This provides a wider height range for the performers.
TAIL A Tail will be provided, as reflected in approved the artwork. It will be manufactured from appropriately-colored faux fur. The Tail will be integrated into the Body Skin so it can be controlled by the performer’s waist movements.
If a tail curves upward and.or the body shape is form fitting we may install a belt for the performer to better control the tail and keep it upright.
HANDS The Hands will be manufactured from appropriately- colored faux fur and matching dyed Antron fleece. They will be attached to the arms and enclosed by snaps at the wrist to enable the wearer to dress with ease.
Some hands are constructed from athletic gloves with fur stitched on the tops and separate from the costume. This is a good option for athletically-skilled performers.
SHIRT The Shirt will be constructed from appropriately-colored athletic jersey mesh and will be tailored to reflect the appearance in the approved artwork. An EPS vectorized version of your logo will be embroidered onto the front of the shirt and any character name can be added to the back. Please provide a vectorized file of your logo so we can get your branding spot-on.
SHORTS The Shorts will be manufactured from appropriately-colored athletic mesh or polyester performance fabric, and will be tailored to reflect the appearance in your approved sketch.
SHOES The Shoes will be constructed from a light-weight, flexible closed-cell foam. They will be covered in appropriately colored vinyl. A Velcro strap system built into the base of the Shoes will allow any range of performers’ shoes to be worn inside the Shoe. The soles will include a tread sole, to allow outdoor use. Each Shoe will most likely weigh less than a pound.
Some athletically-minded performers prefer smaller shoes that cover their athletic sneaker. We can make these types as well.
PRICE Your Mascot will be manufactured as per these specifications, at a final cost outlined below:

WARRANTY Your mascot is fully warranted against all manufacture defects. All claims for warranty against manufacture defects must be received within 3 years of receipt of the costume. Damage due to normal wear is not covered under this warranty.
DISCLAIMER Manufacturing issues may require that we deviate from the specifics detailed herein. However, no changes will be made without prior customer approval.
Digital progress pictures will be provided at appropriate stages in the manufacture of your mascot. A final picture will be provided for customer approval before final payment is requested.
Total cost for Mascot Character Costume Package:
$7,000-10,000 depending on complexity, express time for construction, and size of shipping dimensions.
· Note that the current quote is based on use of commercially available fabrics and colors. Should you require specialized fabrics or colors not available within the Keystone Mascots supplier base, the quote will be revised to accommodate. All colors of your mascot will be matched as closely as possible. However, we cannot guarantee 100% color match. Slight variations in colors may occur.
This quote is valid for 60 days from the date of issue. Should this quote be accepted later than 15 days after the date of issue, lead times may be increased. If necessary, ship dates will be reviewed at the time of agreement to purchase.
At the point of sale, the approved concept drawing, the final product and all images thereof, become the sole property of the client.
Unless otherwise specified, Keystone Mascots reserves the right to utilize images and the approved concept drawing in its promotional material.
NOTE: Keystone Mascots use Postal Connections (USPS/FedEx/UPS) of Ephrata, Pa. as our shipper of choice. We CANNOT guarantee delivery date, as shipping / border incidents which may delay delivery are outside of the control of Keystone Mascots. The only dates that Keystone Mascots can guarantee is the manufacture complete date, and the ship date.
If we are able to personally deliver your costume (normally within a four-hour drive) we will offer both cost estimates and allow you to decide which way you’d like to receive your costume.
